THE DEAL

The Secrets of Icewine tour is a comprehensive look at the process of making icewine from start to finish. By the end of the tour you will understand the risks involved in making icewine, how we get such intense flavours in the wine and why icewine is so expensive.

The tour starts with a short briefing indoors where it is warm. But then, you'd better have your boots and snow suit, we head outside to where the actual grapes are hanging on the vine waiting to be picked. You get to sample these grapes. You'll learn how we protect the grapes until they are picked, the weather conditions we need to pick them and all about the VQA police! You'll be taken through the process of pressing the grapes and get to sample some juice before it has been fermented. By now you'll be feeling as chilled as those who pick the icewine grapes!

We'll move back inside. We will sample two icewines...a white and a red and discuss the differences between the two. You'll then get to sample three different foods made with icewine. Here you can learn about icewine and food pairing.

THE FINE PRINT

Groupon voucher expires January 29, 2012. We will do our best to accomodate the timeframe in which you wish to visit, but book early to avoid disappointment. Bookings are on the hour. Voucher is for a group tour, tasting and food sampling and instore credit. It does not include anything else such as travel, additional tasting...

Please plan to arrive about 10 minutes prior to your booking time. When you arrive, please identify yourself in the retail store as a Groupon customer. Have your Groupon voucher ready for presentation.

Tour- As described above. Please wear warm clothes and boots as it will take place outside. Probably up to 30 minutes outside.

Tasting- you will be tasting a white and red icewine as part of the tour. You will also taste icewine juice before it is fermented.

Food sampling- We operate an annual event during the icewine festival of food samples made with icewine. Your package allows you to pick any three from the ten or so that we offer.

Underage P ersons- This is a 19 or older event

In-store credit

  • must be used at the time of your visit
  • must be used in a single transaction
  • has no cash value(ie. if you only spend $15 and pay with the credit, there is no cash back)

Late Policy- We encourage your group to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your booking time. If things beyond your control cause you to be late, we will do our best to place you into another time slot. Please understand this may be very difficult in very busy times(ie. weekends).

Cancellation and NO SHOW Policy- We require 24 hours to cancel your booking. Remember, there is a very narrow window to book this tour because of the nature of it, so make sure you can book into one of the three weekends it is offered.

Inclement Weather Policy- It is January, it is winter in Canada, we expect poor weather. Unless we have a blizzard shutting everything down, the tour will operate.
